How wonderful to welcome all of you again, although it seems a month since you left us. A very warm welcome to all the “new to Bazley” holiday makers– we hope it will be the first of many holidays with us.
Our most exciting happening this year (other than two grandsons getting married!) has been the arrival of Devan and Candy’s precious Rosie May – our 4th generation of Mac Nicols at Bazley. You will all meet her and see that she is definitely the most incredible little girl ever born – great grandmother’s prejudice? – for sure!
Ian and Dev have been hard at work, and the Bazley Mpithi Trail is the result. This is 14 kms long, and suitable for cycling, walking or running. Please get a key and sign in at security at the office gate. It is well signposted for the different degrees of difficulty. Remember “no helmet, no ride”.
We would love you to join us for tea and scones at the Tig an Oil every morning at 10:30. This is a very social time, with chatting extending way beyond tea time. Tea is also served at 3:30 in the afternoon (regret no scones!).
Also creating the social atmosphere, braai fires are made every night at the Tig an Oil, ready at 7. Just bring your meat and salads, and of course b.y.o.b.
The “cattle truck” leaves from outside the office every day at 10, when Ian takes everyone to Ndesingane beach. It is a delightful beach a few k’s from the park where the swimming is a lot safer, although we do have lifesavers on the beach out front. But as ever in the sea, take care. So bring your beach goodies and enjoy! The truck returns at 12.
If you would prefer to go to Ndesingane in your own car it is necessary to get a permit from our security at the gate. There is a refundable deposit of R100. PLEASE RETURN YOUR PERMIT WHEN YOU GET BACK as there is a limited number available to us.
Our shop hours are 8:15 to 5 every day, except Christmas day (8:15 to 12). The takeaway is from 11 to 3 every day, but closed on Christmas day. Office hours are 8:15 to 4 weekdays, weekends 8.15 to 1.
MONKEYS AND CATS are a very real problem. Please don’t leave food around, and of course, please DON’T FEED THEM.
If you have a second car, please make sure it is parked on your site or in the parking area. The parking area needs to be prebooked.
REBOOKING. You have first refusal on your site for next year, but this must be booked before leaving the park. The deposits needed will be explained to you.
All sporting equipment (paddles, table tennis bats etc) is available from security at the gate. Please do not keep equipment over night. Also on a refundable deposit system.
You will have received an information brochure on arrival. Please read it as it has all our rules for keeping everyone happy in a small space! Please also remember the pier is out of bounds after 10:30. You will also have received our “Things to see and do” which gives you info about the area. However, if there is anything else you would like to know, we are here to help you.
PLEASE REMEMBER NO FIREWORKS IN THE PARK OR ON THE BEACH
